Wild elopement in Margaret River

Winter elopement—just the phrase evokes cozy, intimate vibes, doesn’t it? For Jessie and Ash, it meant embracing everything winter in the South West of WA had to offer. They chose to start the day right where it all began: Hidden Valley Forest Retreat, the same spot where Ash popped the question. Their wedding night brought with it the some even wilder stormy weather—perfect for a hot spa, snuggles, and a glass of red wine.

Jessie and Ash’s winter elopement was truly about leaning into nature’s whims, which is exactly what The Wild Package is all about. When you’re up for whatever Mother Nature might throw at you, you get an experience that’s truly unforgettable. On their elopement day, Mother Nature showed up in full force, and it only added to the epicness of their story. The smiles and joy on their faces said it all—there was something magical about braving the elements together.

The Wild Package in the Margaret River region is all about immersing yourself in the raw beauty of the area. It’s ideal for couples like Jessie and Ash who crave both forest and coastal vibes. The giant karri trees, native to South West WA, came to life with the rain, their trunks glistening as droplets danced on their leaves. The wild beauty of the forest served as a perfect backdrop, adding a touch of magic.

Our adventure took us as the crow flies, to the coast. With the wind howling and waves crashing over the rocks, the power of nature was on full display. The swell was so strong that we could only venture so far down, but the sheer sight of it was enough to take your breath away.

The Leeuwin-Naturaliste Coastline is a geological wonder—two dramatically different rock types in close proximity, each telling a story from a different time. The ancient granite and granitic gneiss, aged around 600 million years, stood strong against the elements, while the younger Tamala Limestone, only 2 million years old, sat nearby, a testament to the forces of wind and water over time.

Stopping off at the wild lilly forest was another unexpected perk of a winter elopement. The forest was alive with moisture, and while some might see these plants as pests, to Jessie and Ash, they added a special charm to their day.

When we ventured to the second spot for sunset (Sorry folks we’re keeping this one underwraps too!) Somehow, in the midst of a wild day, the clouds parted just enough to give us a glimpse of the sun setting over the crashing waves. Against the backdrop of Tamala Limestone, formed from shells, sand, and coral—this was nature’s sculpture, crafted over millions of years and illuminated by the last light of the day. It was the perfect conclusion to a wild, windswept, and utterly romantic adventure.

As we took Jessie and Ash back to their cozy accommodation, the heavens truly opened up. Rain poured down, sealing their wedding day with a touch of drama. But as they held each other close, the warmth between them outshone the chill in the air. For Jessie and Ash, their winter elopement wasn’t just a wedding—it was a celebration of love, nature, and all the untamed beauty that comes with both.

Whether you’re dreaming of a wild winter wedding or even something a little more laid-back in the summer! The Wild Package offers an unforgettable way to say “I do.” For couples like Jessie and Ash, it’s a chance to embrace every moment—stormy skies, wild waves, and all.
