If you’re looking for things to do in Margaret River after you elope, the region is quite simply, exceptional. With an abundance of natural beauty from white sandy beaches and magical forests, to the numerous luxury accommodations, Margaret River is well and truly ready to welcome you into its soul.

Looking for things to do in Margaret River for adventurous couples? We like the way you think! From hiking and horseback riding to some of the world’s very best surf, there’s no shortage of options for you adrenaline junkies!

And if fresh coastal air, fine wine, craft beers, and countless things to do tick your boxes, we’ll arrange all of it for you — we’ve got the details at the end in our ‘Wild Deluxe’ package! For now, here’s just a little taste of what this place has to offer:

1. Explore world-renowned vineyards

One of our favourite Margaret River honeymoon ideas is to explore the region’s food and beverage options, in this case, more than a few glasses… From private wine tours for couples in Margaret River to rare wine tastings, they’ve got it all.

Exploring some of the romantic wineries in Margaret River for newlyweds, Margaret River wine tour takes you on an action-packed journey where you’ll experience the area’s highly acclaimed food and wine. They’ve even got a full-day tour that includes lunch at Xanadu!

Craft beer more your style? Try Bushtucker Tours. For those who like craft beers or something with a little more adventure — it includes 6 tasting venues and has lunch included!

Perhaps you’d prefer something a little more chilled out (we get it, elopements can be full on!), try Rústico at Hay Shed Hill for a long (and boozy!) lunch the next day.

2. Post elopement dinner

A post-elopement dinner is a great way to round off the occasion — and Margaret River doesn’t disappoint in this area. There’s plenty to choose from, though De’sendent gets our vote. It’s intimate, edgy, and uses local and seasonal ingredients. With the low-lit room and welcoming staff, it’s the epitome of the romantic dining Margaret River has to offer.

3. Discover secluded beaches

With over 200km of coastline, you’ll be spoilt with a huge choice of secluded beaches to explore in Margaret River after eloping.

Here’s a quick list of places you could explore:

If you want to turn it into a day trip, order a picnic hamper from Margaret River Hampers, showcasing amazing products from talented local producers in this stunning region!

4. Indulge in a couples spa experience

When looking for luxurious spa experiences for two in Margaret River, there’s really no better place to do this than at MEND. Drawn to the surf, the lifestyle, and the community, these guys know a thing or two about wellness and recovery. Finnish sauna, infrared sauna, hot plunge, ice bath, and a plethora of massage treatments — it’s a fantastic way to rest and relax before your elopement!

5. Head out on an adventure!

In case you haven’t guessed already, we are OBSESSED with adventure!! If we’re not on the trail with you guys, we’re outdoors doing recce, finding the best places for your special occasion. Partly, it’s just baked into our DNA, and partly it’s because of “Merlin” that can actually get us to these places!

So what does Margaret River have to offer us on this front? Loads!

Interested in hiking some of the incredible trails on offer in the area? Try the ‘Cape to Cape’ route from Cape to Cape Tours. It’s a multi-day hike over 132km (epic!), but as specialists in authentic, eco-conscious, guided tours, you’ll be in good hands.

Perhaps you’ll feel more at home on a romantic horse ride with your number one. Jesters Flat offers everything from a 1-hour ride all the way up to 3 days and 3 nights. Whether you’re a novice in the saddle or a veteran rider, this is a fantastically romantic thing to do in Margaret River after you elope.

Maybe you just want to hang out after you elope, or maybe you’d prefer to literally hang out on some of Wilyabrup’s stunning sea cliffs, or the secret caves under Boranup Forest. The folks at Margaret River Climbing Co. have thousands of climbs under their belt, so while you’ll certainly be living on the edge, you’ll definitely have a tale to tell!

There’s so much more to do out here too, from jetski tours and sailing to kayaking and surfing (with 75 breaks to choose from). Each autumn, Margaret River even hosts The Margaret River Pro; a section of the World Surfing League — a great addition to the area’s surf culture!

And, if you’d like your own personal mountain bike guide to show you the ropes (including bike hire, tips and tricks), there’s no better person for the job than Steve at On Track Mountain biking, who coaches all abilities from beginners to pro. Trust us — we’re mountain bikers ourselves!

6. Unwind at a luxury retreat

After all that adrenaline, why not treat yourself to one of the luxury getaways Margaret River has to offer?

One of our favourites is Eclipse Expeditions. Part retreat, part ultimate adventure (there’s time to relax, we promise!), Eclipse Expeditions is a bespoke eco yacht charter that runs in Western Australia. You’ll explore the stunning South West coastline in six-star comfort!

If you’re looking for something a little more ‘grounded’, 8 Paddocks is where you’ll want to stay. Grab a glass of our fine local wine, take a long soak in the outdoor concrete bath, and gaze at the expansive and incredibly dark skies above. You’ll enjoy watching the super cute Highland cows too!
